Mainz ~

Next on our list was a tour of the city of Mainz. Hubert put up with the three of us like a real trooper!

But of course, our first stop had to be the gorgeous cathedrals and churches the city had to offer. One, St. Stephen's was of particular interest. It houses the most beautiful windows - designed by Chagall and donated to the church despite Chagall's vow not to ever do anything for Germany after WWII. They were breathtaking and their lovely blue hue gave the church a calm, peaceful quality.

I never get tired of walking through the streets of German towns, no matter how large.

Hubert, checking his map so that he can lead us to the next site: the Gutenberg Museum. But first, a quick look at the oldest roseta window ~
