Bird of Prey Show

My first year at AAG included lots of planning ~ not just for classroom lessons, but also for field trips! That was no easy feat since I was not very familiar with Dubai and really had no idea what would be appropriate places to take my fourth grade girls... but I got lucky. As I was thinking about how to enhance my science unit on animal adaptations, I heard someone talking about a Bird of Prey show that was actually very near our school. I booked the trip and took my girls. Boy did we strike gold!!! The German couple who ran the show were more than wonderful! They had a great demonstration for us in which they talked about the birds they had hunted and such.












They also then let our girls hold some of the birds!!! This was especially fun because some of those birds were very heavy!!!!











Even I got in on the act! What a glorious feeling to be so close to such magnificent creatures....
