Plitvice Lakes National Park

This morning we decided to divide and conquer! While Diana and Christina scoped out more nooks and crannies of the beautiful Zagreb, Kelly and I headed out for a day at the renowned Plitzvice Falls ~

The name is somewhat misleading - Plitzvice is not A waterfall, but rather an area of numerous small falls - quite lovely and luscious!  Off we go ~

The water was so beautifully clear ~

Oops - not all of my selfies work out...  lol

 There!

In some places, the water even rushed over the boardwalk!

First we saw fishies, and then ... ducklings!!!!

Oooo, a cave!!!!

GAH!!!!  A bat!!!!

Luckily, there was so much more lushness to see!

Such a pretty place!  So glad that we decided to explore!

Check out these roots!

We had such fun exploring, despite the crowds of other people there -

And then....
                         Plip. Plop. Plip-plop-plip-plip. Plop-plop-plop-plop-plop!!!!!!

It was a downpour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Kelly and I, and everyone else, RAN, hoping to get off the boardwalk and find a bus.  Which we did.  But boy, oh boy, we were soaked to the bone!!!!

We will never forget this lovely area, though - Totally worth the drenching!

Zagreb!

Finally in our last country, we rented a car so that we could toodle down through Croatia.  First stop:  Zagreb!

What appeared to be a city of yellow buildings!

 And steeples ~

What a city!  They had a bandstand all set up with a giant screen for the final game of the World Cup!!!

We didn't know who he was, but we liked him!

We never really figured out what these signs meant, but we kept our windows up, just in case!
